Kings of Pleasure were formed in 1996 by singer-songwriter-guitarist Mike Hebert of Oceanside California- the group based its sound on the great jump blues bands of the 1950's with a little Vegas lounge action on the side and soon landed a record deal with indie label Trope Records. They began to enjoy the high life of show business success that was the retro-swing fad, which took place in the late 1990's. During that time they released three albums, were booked on Conan O'Brien's show (declined as Mike does'nt fly), hired to play at Arnold Schwarzenegger's Beverly Hills new years eve party, performed the National Anthem at the Phoenix Sun's season home opener, collecting fans along the way like Brad Pitt, Matt Dillon, Mickey Dolenz of the Monkees, Mike Ness, Brian Setzer and many, many un-famous people as well.
"Tucson Swings!" is one of Tucson's best jazz bands.
Directed by Frank Guldseth, featuring the popular vocalist Julie Anne and many other top jazz soloists, it's the best show in town!!
